Wealth & Business

Financially Empowered Women Create Lasting Change.

There is something profoundly biblical about a well. It is the place people come to when their reserves are low, not to be lectured, not to perform, but simply to receive. Jacob’s Well is Women of Excellence’s answer to that ancient human need. It is a space of practical, dignified care for women and families who are navigating hardship, uncertainty, or crisis, and who deserve to be met with warmth, not process.

We have watched too many gifted women carry extraordinary ideas and entirely lack the frameworks, language, or community to bring those ideas into sustainable economic reality. And we have watched women build businesses that grew their income but eroded their values, because no one helped them think about the integration of faith and commerce at the beginning. This programme addresses both realities, giving women the tools to build well, and the formation to build with purpose.

WHO IT IS FOR

This programme is for women at every stage of economic development, from those beginning their first business idea with nothing but vision and courage, to established entrepreneurs who want to scale thoughtfully, to employed professionals who want to build financial agency and literacy alongside their career. It is also for women who have faced economic injustice and need restoration before they can build. All are welcome. All are taken seriously.

CORE EXPRESSION

  • Business foundations for early-stage entrepreneurs. Business planning, market validation, pricing, product development, brand positioning, and customer acquisition, taught clearly, practically, and with the African and global contexts our women inhabit fully in view.
  • Financial literacy is a prerequisite for freedom. Personal financial management, budgeting, debt strategy, savings disciplines, investment fundamentals, and understanding credit are taught as a foundation because a woman who cannot manage what she currently has cannot grow what she will build.
  • A faith-informed framework for commerce. What does it mean to run a business with integrity in competitive, often compromised markets? How do calling, ethics, and profit relate? How do you build wealth without losing yourself? These are not rhetorical questions; they are explored practically and theologically throughout the programme.
  • Peer accountability and collaborative community. Women in the programme are connected in peer accountability groups, small cohorts of women at similar stages who meet regularly to share progress, diagnose problems, challenge each other’s assumptions, and celebrate wins. These groups are among the most practically useful aspects of the programme.
  • Access to experienced mentors across sectors. Women further along the road, in business, finance, social enterprise, agriculture, technology, healthcare, and more, are connected to participants as mentors. These relationships are brokered intentionally and supported throughout the programme.
  • Exposure to funding and investment pathways. We introduce women to the landscape of funding available to them, grants, microfinance, impact investment, government support, and diaspora capital, and equip them to present their ideas compellingly to those who hold it.
  • Advocacy for systemic economic inclusion. Individual empowerment is necessary but insufficient. Women of Excellence also works to influence the policies, systems, and institutional practices that create or obstruct economic opportunity for women, particularly those from underserved and marginalised communities.
