Leadership & Discipleship

We Are Not Just Developing Leaders. We Are Forming Women Who Lead From Who They Are.

There is something profoundly biblical about a well. It is the place people come to when their reserves are low, not to be lectured, not to perform, but simply to receive. Jacob’s Well is Women of Excellence’s answer to that ancient human need. It is a space of practical, dignified care for women and families who are navigating hardship, uncertainty, or crisis, and who deserve to be met with warmth, not process.

The Leadership and Discipleship pathway is a structured, intentional journey of formation. It holds together two things that are too often separated: the development of a woman’s inner life and the development of her outward capacity to lead. We have found, consistently, that you cannot have one without the other. Leaders without roots cause harm. Faith without expression remains private. This pathway refuses that false separation.

WHO IT IS FOR

This pathway is for women who sense, clearly or faintly, that they are called to more. For the woman who has been quietly leading for years without the language or recognition for it. For the emerging leader who needs formation, not just training. For the experienced leader who has realised that effectiveness without depth is not sustainable. For every woman who has looked at her life and known, in some unshakeable part of herself, that she was made to contribute to something larger than herself.

CORE EXPRESSION

  • A sequenced formation journey, not a standalone event. The pathway unfolds across distinct phases, beginning with self-knowledge and identity, moving through calling and community, and arriving at public capacity and sustainable leadership practice. Each phase builds on the last.
  • Mentorship at the centre, not the margin. Every woman in the pathway is placed in a mentorship relationship with a seasoned leader who has walked a similar road. These are not performative relationships. They are invested, accountable, and honest, with room for the real questions.
  • Scripture as the primary formation text. We take seriously the idea that the most transformative thing we can do for a leader is connect her to what God says about who she is and what she is for. Biblical teaching is woven throughout, not as religious addition, but as the framework through which everything else is understood.
  • Cohort-based growth peers as catalysts. Women journey through the pathway together in cohorts. This is intentional. The friction, encouragement, challenge, and solidarity of growing alongside other women at a similar stage is irreplaceable. These cohorts often become lifelong communities.
  • Practical leadership in real contexts. Formation without application is incomplete. Women in the pathway are given opportunities to lead within the movement serving, coordinating, speaking, shepherding, so that what they are learning finds expression in practice.
  • Tools for the real work of leadership. Communication and influence, navigating conflict with integrity, building teams and developing others, managing the inner life under pressure, these practical competencies are taught, practiced, and reflected upon throughout the journey.
  • A clear progression within the movement. Women who complete the pathway have a clear road into ongoing leadership roles within Women of Excellence, locally, nationally, and globally. We invest in women with the intention of releasing them.
HOW TO ENGAGE

Begin the Journey.

The Leadership and Discipleship pathway accepts women in cohort intakes. Places are limited to ensure the depth of investment we are committed to. Whether you are stepping in for the first time or returning at a deeper level, we encourage you not to wait for a more convenient season. The right time is rarely obvious until you begin.
